Btw also note in your screenshot that the value "4.00" in the "Join:" section is the default. But sometimes this value can create weird lines or overhangs with little angle. I'm not sure what is the best way to use it, but sometimes I've found it works well to reduce it to 0 or 1 instead of 4.

What software are you using? Inkscape maybe?
