Another great set!

I like the flower and mushrooms.  Little details like that make all the difference.  :)

plus, The Mad SMS'er Strikes Again!

Some detail was lost, but I think it came through ok.

oh no!  The SMS madness spreads!

glad you like the re-colors I've done.

Here's a link to the Sega Master System palette:

https://segaretro.org/Palette

The Genesis palette is actually much larger (512 vs. 64 colors).

Here's a link for that:

https://segaretro.org/Sega_Mega_Drive/Palettes_and_CRAM

Personally, I like to work with a fixed palette.  It helps keep everything looking more consistent.  Using the SMS or NES palette also gives things an instant retro look.

If you want to see some examples of what can be done with the SMS palette, check out any of surt's many amazing SMS works:

https://opengameart.org/users/surt

But the SMS palette is definitely not the only one out there.

If you haven't seen them, Dawnbringer's 16 and 32 color palettes are amazing and are used in alot of great stuff on OGA.

DB16:

DB32:

http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=16247

Bart also put together a great 32 color palette:

https://opengameart.org/forumtopic/bright-fantasy-themed-palette

And there's a thread here on OGA where a number of good palette's can be found:

https://opengameart.org/forumtopic/palette-swap

And finally, GrafxKid's has posted a few nice palette's here:

https://grafxkid.tumblr.com/palettes

Well, as I've said before, you're stuff already looks great, so don't take anything I say too seriously.  :)

Both versions look great! I prefer the SMS one a little more actually. Makes me want to do something with that palette.

> actually SMS is weird for me

Yeah, it's definitely an odd palette.  It can be tough to work with.  Still, I like it because it is very bright and colorful.  It's very good for making kid-friendly 'Mario', 'Zelda', 'Sonic', type games.  I find it nice to use while I am still learning pixel art.  It has a good selection of colors but not so many that I get lost in them.

> but send to me the palette that tou used that are great!!!

Not sure if that translated correctly.  I used the Sega Master System palette for both the color swaps I did on your art.

Two other palettes to check out are Arne's 16 color palette:

http://androidarts.com/palette/16pal.htm

and his 64 color 'Famicube' palette:

http://androidarts.com/palette/TheNewBatch3_64PalV8.gif

more Famicube palette examples here:

http://androidarts.com/palette/Famicube.htm#mockups

I like the Famicube palette a lot.  It is definitely a better choice of 64 colors than the SMS palette.  On the other hand, it doesn't quite have the same retro look that the SMS palette does.
