JRPG Collection 2
Second collection of pieces of the type commonly heard in old JRPGs. Follow up to this.
The preview file contains excerpts from several tracks and the zip contains the pieces listed below, in ogg format, together with basic MIDI files and the Xsynth/WhySynth patches to recreate the sounds used (though they're all extremely simple). Higher-quality format files and easier preview of all tracks can be found here.

Beautiful material. I used it in my mini-game, it's called Sworm Testimony. It's a visual novel or essay that tells the story of trials in premodern times against caterpillars.
