Here is my digital painting attempt at pushing the character design of Sara, the OpenGameArt mascot. She is a lovely character and I would like to send here a big thanks to Mandi Paugh for the original creation of this free/libre culture character. It was painted in Krita 5.1, using mainly a flat layer. I attach here the almost not compressed full resolution 3575x4828px, 95% jpg quality version (4,5MB). I hope this concept-art will be useful to another project at some point. If yes, feel free to mention it in the comment (not mandatory, only for my curiosity).

Love this concept. Btw, I have some questions about her clothes (for remaking her 3D model):
1. On her shoulder, Is that from leather or some kind of iron?
2. On her hips, there is some kind of bumpy thing, Is that inside of her cloth or outside?
3. Is her cloak like a common cloak of an elf or a scarf?
4. Her sleeves are different on each side (left and right) and she wears the right glove only. True?
Thank you for the feedback and for the questions!
1. I wanted to paint a half-transparent white thin clothes covering her shoulders, but with iridescent reflection. I haven't succeed well to paint that :D
2. Yes, I thought about some modeled dark leather protection around her hips, something that looks like two shells. Can also be pockets to hide things.
3. I thought about a common cloak, but with a sort of Scottish pattern on it , but smaller, and maybe not really Scottish too. But a pattern a bit orthogonal/squarely that mixes Cyan and Blue.I have to do research about it, the artwork only suggests its appearance without showing exactly what is it.
4. That's my mistake :) I think the ideal would be symmetrical, with leather gloves on both sides and a piece of tissue wrapping her forearm, hold by a thin leather belt. Something that can let the tissue float a bit. I'll have to draw more to figure out how it works.
I'll try to add next week more drawings to this thread to detail that.
This is very nicely drawn, thanks for sharing!
Yeah, it is nice. I like it how it is, but a variation would be cool.
Very nice drawing! Well done!
Definitely my favorite version of sara. Very nice
This IS cool
