Judge's Computers?

I know that it's still a work in progress, but I'd really appreciate it if we could get the capabilities of the judge's computers, to better offer games that match their capabilities.

I'll list some of the things I'm wondering, feel free to add your own questions:

  • Networking support? (Can they open ports to their routers/firewalls to play multiplayer games? What about a publicly reachable IP?)
  • Gamepad capabilities (Xbox, Wii, PS3, Generic?)
  • Screen resolution (I'll settle with squared or widescreen)
  • Specs (Proc, GPU, RAM,  Linux Distro, etc)

I'm guessing at the moment that it'll be reasonable to require that judges' networks be able to support multiplayer games.  As for the other specs, I'll make sure a list goes out before the code portion of the contest starts.

Another question to consider -- I'm vaguely thinking of working on an Android game.  It would be playable on a PC via virtualbox and one of the x86 ports of Android Open Source Project, but it would be nice to know what proportion of the judges have actual Android devices, and what kinds of specs they have on them.

I really doubt that developing for only Android is acceptable. You could use libGDX or some other library like that, as long as it's free (as-in-freedom).

I don't strictly see why not, as long as it runs in the android emulator and uses only free libs.

Is it reasonable to expect OpenGL 2.0 on the Judging computers? It seems like only really old ATI/Nvidia cards and the very low-end Intel cards (most of the GMA line) would have issues with this, but it would be really helpful in making something that is portable to OpenGLES systems.
