Back when I first started the design for my current game project, it looked more old school PSX/SNES-y, but with a eye-killing color palette based on the markers I used for the concept art. I've since elected to use a more Gameboy oriented set of graphics and color palettes and I'm passing the savings on to you. Here is one of my obsolete character designs for my character "Robina". While this particular sprite is free to use, be aware that I am still using an alternate design of the same character as a main playable character (in a different graphic style) for my current project. She looks totally different, but is still totally an awesome black girl with a headband/afro combo going on.

Oh, this is TOTALLY based on Jasonem/Grafxkid's Classic Hero Sprite, which you should also cjeck out if you haven't.

She likes using hedge clippers as a weapon.
