A collection of 16 planet diffuse texture surfaces, heightmaps and HVH maps.
HVH maps are Heat(Red), Vegetation(Green) and Humidity(Blue) data encoded in their respective color channels as an image.
All maps are 24bit BMPs at 2048x1024

I used povray to render this as planets, adding clouds and atmosphere.
I noticed that it doesn't 'spread out' on the north and south, so it doesn't quite look right on the poles.
Btw, you're doing some kind of autogeneration here? I used povray to generate the whole thing including surface, but i am just guessing(so far) what might work if you want to add rivers or stuff, and i think it might make it slow, generating the surface texture directly is probably better.. I tried to add the ice caps from my older planet on this one, but it didn't work.
The ice caps worked just by estimating the temperature and declaring it ice when it is below some value. Temperature was principally determined using the integrated level sunlight(inproduct with normal of surface.) Well i guess you can look at the .pov file and see a temperature function, and stuff if you want.
