I thought the minotaur of Redshrike's tower defense asset pack would make for a really good action RPG enemy, so i converted it into a spritesheet ready to be used.

Unfortunately the attack animation of the original was placed on the image without considering frame boxes, so i had to position all the sprites manually pixel by pixel until they matched. Phew!

Changes i made:

* Added an idle animation by slightly modifying one of the frames of the walk cycle. The torso moves up and down by one pixel, making it look like the minotaur is breathing. Terrifying!

Last, but not least i've added three color variations. Think of them as stronger versions or elemental minotaurs representing Earth, Frost, Lava and Thunder. The brown one is the original.

Frame dimensions are 96x96.

Note: There are no up and down facing animations and none for death.

Enjoy :)

Interesting bit of serendipity. I always liked this guy too, and just uploaded what I've done with him so far.

Nice work!

This is fantastic, I will probably use it in my dwarf based platformer! Attribution will follow of course!

any chance you'd take a commission to make up/down versions, or am I SOL?

Evert made north/south versions here: https://opengameart.org/content/wartotaur-4-directions . Despite the filename, there are 4 directions for both walk and attack animations. Their version is upscaled a bit compared to the original.
