I am a programmer, not a pixel artist, but I saw an opportunity to provide a resource for others to use, so here it is.
This is the walk cycle base for a muscular male developed from the LPC male base. The sprite is 2 pixels wider than the original, so most clothing assets designed for the base sprite won't fit. Hands and feet have been left in the original positions. The second preview image is animated, so be sure to check that out.
If any pixel artists see areas where this can be improved upon or further developed, feel free, it would be much appreciated.

http://opengameart.org/content/pixel-art-contest-entry-starsteel-barbari... someone should adapt these to the base as well. That would be fun.
Parts of the base are pretty well executed; generally, I think there's a bit of an overuse of lines to define form rather than shading. This works better with some features than others, but overall it's still a good effort.
Hey there! I'm adding this asset as a body type to my LPC Character Creator! We don't have any clothing assets for him yet, but once I square out the rest of the bodies, it's on my to-do list!
I've added pants for the poor dude!

He's now a fully functional, dressed fighter:

@dalonedrau: Is this based on the original LPC base? Why is it only CC-BY-SA and not also GPL like most of the other LPC assets? It is acceptable to only adopt one of the licenses if that is your wish, but it would be a shame to lose out on the full spectrum of licenses for no reason.
Are the hair, mustache, and girdle thing also available somewhere?
