We created these nebulas for our first game for iPhone called Swarm Breaker (available on the App Store). Our goal was to create high resolution nebulas that we can loop in the background in our scrolling shooter game and we had to make sure they weren't too bright or distracting. We also had to start from scratch and could only use tools available for free.

To give back to this amazing community we decided to release our creations for free. You can do anything with these, even commercially, as long as you don't claim ownership of them and include the attribution statement (you already know how this works, just making sure...).

The package includes 3 different nebulas (2 blue/red, 1 orange/green) cut into two vertical half pieces. Each piece is 1242 x 2048 (width x height) which is the rendering resolution of 3x iPhone displays (like the iPhone 6S Plus). Attribution also included*.

Please note that these images were intended to be used scaled down, or on otherwise small physical display sizes, because they include some visual artifacts that can be noticable when displayed in full resolution on a desktop computer. Consider using an aggressive blur effect to hide these imperfections when using them in full res.

If you want to learn about how we created these, please leave a comment and we'll do a blog post if there's enough interest.

Happy hunting! :)
