This is my first artwork in gimp.  I don't know the program yet, but I want to learn.  Feedback and critique is very much appreciated.  If anyone knows of tutorials which would help with weapons, please, post a link.  Thanks!

Maybe you should use more shades of the same color, for the gray for example, 3 or 4 graycolors, so it looks a bit more three-dimensional. But that depends on the style you want to create.

This is nice, but it has a basket hilt and I think that would make it a cutlass, not a scimitar.
