Amazing, is there a chance for you to publish 3D models of these? If not, depth + normal map renders would be very nice too. They are needed for pixel shaded 2D games ;)
Unfortunatelly i can't release the models, too much headache, plugin incompatibilities and they were not really optimized to be used as exported 3d objects.
As for the normal and depth maps, to tell you the truth i've never heard of them being used in pre-rendered 2d, i don't doubt it just no way of creating them, none that i know of anyway.
There is one game engine that is already using normal maps:

We are working on a better solution that also requires depth maps. Currently we are working on the demo, all of us has other jobs, making the process slow.
Is it okay to use automated means to recreate 3d models out of your sprites?
I'm not sure what exactly that means, but sure go ahead.
