Last Starlight: Paradise Dream is a 70+ music-pack for YOUR rpgs or really any project.

I'm a *very* amateur chiptune guy, and recently decided to challenge myself to create a full soundtrack for an imaginary RPG. I found graphics from opengameart and spent weeks writing little looping tracks on beepbox.co with a 2D JRPG style.

I stuck entirely to square, triangle, and other 8-bit waveforms for a *reasonably* authentic feel, though I cheated a bit here and there.

There are multiple tracks for every aspect of an RPG I could think of, from the overworld, character themes, battle music, incidental tunes, etc.

Feel free to use the downloaded files or the links below.

You can find a selection in "storyline" order here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asJePWWyeNA

If you like it, you can follow me on Twitter @mirasbrush, and if you want more, feel free to ask - I do charge for fully custom work, but I might have another track that would fit.

Also, please let me know if you use one or more of my tunes, I may shout you out on Twitter, and I like to see when my music is out in the world.

And yes, I know I clearly don't know anything about composition. I'm also aware some of it is VERY similar to other JRPG tunes, I really wanted to capture that sound.

If you want, you can access the full, slowly updated list here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S-xU7jDROEYQT-hmwkQlLeAaRsrHPYvAwZNj...

Click on any link, hit play to listen. Then you can download and title it whatever you want, the intended title is above each link.
Download as MP3 rather than as MIDI, as the MIDI conversion isn't great.

The list will probably be updated a bit; however, the attached ZIP files should also work. All tunes are in .ogg format. There are additional bonus files in the Google Doc, but the .ogg files will work directly.

It is ok to link to another site for additional content, but the content you discuss in the description must be present in the downloadable files in a common asset format (wave, mp3, midi, etc.) so that it isn't only a list of links to beepbox.

Please pre-export the beepbox sequences as .wav files and add them to the .zip file.

Hmm, MedicineStorm, is there a way around this, or around upload size limits? The only reason I ask, is that there are over 70 tunes, and even compressed at maximum using 7zip, I'd need a total of 14 or 15 individual files, measuring 100s of MB. Is that the preferred method?

Would it be simpler if I just uploaded the files one by one?

Looking to be compliant here, I just don't know the best way for your site.

Thanks for the heads-up, let me know your preference.

EDIT: Or should I just re-classify this as a "document?" That seems compliant, though not accurately descriptive.

The file size limit is 200MB, but it is possible to upload multiple files. I recommend essentially what you have outlined above; ~15 .zip files each containing multiple .wav files, such that each archive is < 200MB.

You could also go with .ogg or .mp3 for a much smaller file size. People tend to prefer the losslessness of .wav, but compressed audio files are perfectly acceptable, especially considering the limited waveforms in beepbox songs. :)

That is a very reasonable response. It would take a very long time to save them all as .ogg, though you are right about that format being just fine for this sort of music. I will see if I can do a batch convert, otherwise I will take some time this weekend to upload each .zip file.

Thank you for your patience.

uhh... it doesn't look like it took. The .zip file still only contains a list of beepbox links.
