Characters from Sparklin Labs' Superpowers HTML5 game maker.
Superpowers has a variety of free assets: 2D sprites, backgrounds, 3D models, sound effects, music, and animations. These are just the characters, but I'll be uploading the other assets: http://opengameart.org/content/superpowers-asset-packs

I believe Pixel-boy is the original artist, and that these characters are appropriately Open Source assets, as their original links are available on Patreon as well as GitHub.
I should probably contact Pixel-boy, even though they are CC0.
Well, there's nothing illegal about selling CC0 assets, but it certainly isn't very ethical or nice to charge people money for someone else's work. I'm assuming there's some sort of value-add in that $15 package? Regardless, this was licensed CC0 directly from the original authors, and I even spoke to them before uploading it. Hmm, that is true regarding the CC0. After looking a bit deeper into the itch io post, it seems like there might be some added value. Sorry for raising flags so suddenly, haha. Someone notified me, so I sort of projected that.
Also, intended to make a post in a week or so, but I guess now's fine. Really would like to say thanks for making these assets available, MedicineStorm! I have used them in Multiverse Heroes: a free, Kinetic Novel + Idle Hero mashup, currently available on GameJolt.

You were right to raise those flags. We want everyone to enjoy these for free. I added a note on the Itch io page, so I guess we'll see if there's an explanation. I'm not trying to get up in someone's business if they're truly producing something worthy of the cost, but if it's not much more than what PixelBoy made available for free, that seems pretty rotten to me.
P.S. I deserve none of the thanks for this. It's all PixelBoy and the SuperPowers team, but thanks! I'll pass on your appreciation. :)
I don't think the intent was to sell the art asset or add to it. It's a startup rpg project for unity, where the backbone code is already in place and you can expand on it easily. That is what they're charging for. I'm pretty sure this is pretty standard stuff, as I've seen people selling engine projects, using Kenny assets.
Yep, that's exactly my impression.
They are selling the code for the "RPG Battle System" of the title.
Pixel-boy's graphics are just there for demonstrative purposes, which is totally cool.

I personally think, perhaps, the creator of the RPG Battle System could credit Pixel-boy openly, to avoid future confusion, but that's entirely up to them. Seems it was a good call on MedicineStorm's part, regarding added value. Seems a lot of work did go into it.
