The licensing's a bit unfortunate. Non-commercial means it will be problematic to include this in open-source games, and the lack of a formal license doesn't really help.
The flame's very nice, though.
1. He says "use without attribution" in noncommercial projects. He chose CC-BY, so that sort of implies that he is okay with commercial projects, as long as they abide by CC-BY.
2. Purple. The fire is purple.
