Open source/art crowd fund (Crystal Picnic)
I apologize if this is considered spam. I had a similar project (Monster RPG 2) before and many of those assets are on this site now so I thought you may be interested. I'm running a campaign on Indiegogo to open up the source and assets of our game, Crystal Picnic. More info on the game can be found here: http://www.nooskewl.ca/crystal-picnic. The game and it's art will be opened up soon regardless, but I spent around $8,000 on the art and am hoping to gain a little back as I still have loans to pay. If you're still reading, the campaign is at http://igg.me/at/crystal-picnic. Check it out if any of this interests you. Thanks!
I could be interested in supporting such a campaign, but I would need to know explicitly what the licensing for the assets will be beyond "All of these assets will be available for everyone in the world to use in commercial and non-commercial works".

Here is the text of the license with an explanation afterwards:

The license means you can do whatever you want with it. It's intended to be a public domain replacement that is usable even in places that don't have something called public domain. So you can use the assets under GPL, BSD, Creative Commons licenses, or your own commercial license, as you choose.
So, kind of like a hand-rolled CC0? That's generous. Nice art, too. (Yay for an RPG that's cartoonish instead of all grim and serious for a change.) Good luck there!
Good enough for me. Done.

Same here. Will probably pick up the game on the Ouya.
Thank you for your generosity! I put a few sample graphic assets in the gallery on Indiegogo. There are a few sprites with loads of frames like the one I uploaded (many aren't even shown for that character), and a whole bunch of other sprites too. There are 18 MIDI tracks for music and 110 SFX. All together there are over 2,700 frames of animation/sprites/tilesheets/other graphics.
This looks like a serious bargain for these assets. I don't really have much in my paypal atm but I'll try to get a donation in before it's over.
Thanks for your consideration. :)
Surprise surprise! The data for the game is available now: http://www.nooskewl.ca/more/.
Please consider a donation if you find it useful.
Thanks!
