Project to help people with varying disabilities

Hey there!

I'm currently working on a University project which is a 'simulator' whereby you get the play as someone with a neurological condition (i.e ADHD) and get to experience some of the world through their eyes. Quite a large amount has been programmed up with a few basic models that i've created(but they look terrible hehe).

I've been working very hard on this for the last few months and have recently demoed it to great feedback! You can see a breif picture of it on my twitter time_is_ticking.

When I finish, i'm heavily debating making it open source - but the bottom line is I want this as available to people as possible. I have a family with lots of neurodiverse people and I know how hard it is to get understanding.

The type of art I'm primarily looking for is a house with some interior (wall paper, floors etc) and perhaps some furniture if you have time :). It could literally just be a house with nothing in it but wall paper, floor, doors. The outside doesn't matter much as the user will be inside.

Low poly is needed for the game.

Other great things would be:

  1. Furniture with some animation element to it, i.e fridge opening and closing, window opening and closing, bed covers being pulled open and closed
  2. Toy boxes/toys
  3. Food/ stains of food on a side which could be put on a kitchen side.
  4. Character with some animation to go with it, i.e mum wagging finger in disaproval (no face expressions required), and some random body language movements that wouldn't fit with human social norm and we'd be like, wtf?
  5. Basic classroom environment.

The first prototype of the project s done but it will be on-going for about another year. You will be fully credited and once a website has been done in the next month to allow online playing, you'll be plasted over the credits with links to any websites you have etc. This is unfortunately all I can offer at the moment with low funds, but after summer I may be able to offer some payment for your troubles (having tried and spent quite a lot of time learning to model i'm aware of the hard work that goes into it).

Oh, and the ideal choice would be blender if that would be ok :).

If there was any, any chance of someone being able to help, I'd really, really appreciate it.

Ashley

I can do fridge and a cupboard for you, I just need to know poly budget, pls say a number in multiples of 100ks. Just kidding, I can do lowpoly. Do you need the interior of fridge and/or cupboard?

Sorry I guess I wasn't very clear haha. Yes low poly would be preferred if that's ok? :)

If you could do an interior, that would be awesome.

Also if you could possibly provide some information about yourself that I could link people too (like a website you have or I could just link to your open game art profile, this is if you'd like me too).

Maybe these pieces of furniture might be suitable for you? They're from the Tempest in the Aether project, so they're a bit steampunk-ish, but they are fairly low-poly,

Got a basic fridge. I need some input. Its 200 polies. I might add more details if you can afford more polies for it. Also rigging is complete.

I might improve doors a bit. But as I said after wednesday.

Wow, that's actually amazing!!

No problems at all about dates Cem! I really, really appreciate you contributing. Thank-you so much!

Again though just to check when giving you credit, shall I link your gameart profile or would you like something else :)?

The poly limit I have for a scene is 100k :). At the moment most objects are around 2k, so 200 is awesome!

ashleyt: do you need an oven/cooker combo? Seems like a nice thing to do. I am planning to submit them as kitchen set once I am finished with them.

Hey cem,

yes indeed I do! I managed to find one from somewhere but its very high poly and causing me problems.

Additions, I can't seem to find one that's low poly =/:

Here is the cooker and improved fridge. Total scene is 660 polies/1.4k trigs. Texturing is left on those two. I might go ahead and do the whole kitchen. But that'll take time. For the credit part, my name and if possible link to oga profile would be nice. But later on I might want the link to be switched. We are trying to build our web site but as the rest of the things, its going slow.

That's so pretty, thankyou so much!!!

A project which is similar to mine has just gone all around the news - and theirs covers a much smaller aspect and is less complete than mine is...so hopefully by putting a link to your website/profile I may be able to get you a few customers in return.

Just one question: where can I download this? I only see the png available.

They still need texturing but here they are. I will submit them later on when I have finished with entire kitchen.

No worries at all. I'm not in a particular rush and I really appreciate you giving your time. Sorry I wasn't sure if it was me doing something wrong and that's why I couldn't download :)

Horray, I finally finished modelling. It requires baking textures and setting up materials (no idea how to deal with multi material meshes). Here are two low quality renders

Ah forgot the poly count, 7k trigs. The guy is not with the scene and is not counted. He is there for size reference. Its from Clints male base mesh.

Cem that is completely and utterly awesome! II'l add a link to your profile and share you a video of when its used :). So so helpful! I just need to wait for final exam and then can finally get a move on with this project :).

Recieved some great feedback though,  and when a video was uploaded it recieved a hell of a lot of views quickly :).
