Where did the photograph of the moon come from?
i created the moon in blender 3d
You created a 3D textured model of the moon so you could have a texture of the moon to use in 3D models? Where did the original photograph come from that you used to make the texture?
i got the moon texture here https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4720/
the same texture is also here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Moon_texture.jpg
Excellent; PD source. Thank you.
Should I include the source for all models with textures from now on? (I'm new here)
Legally speaking, that isn't required for public domain sources. However, it is difficult for people to know it is derived from a public domain source if the source is not indicated. There is nothing wrong with omitting that information, but people may trust your assets more if you include that information anyway.
TL;DR: Yes, I recommend always including a link and attribution to the source, but it is not strictly a requirement.
thanks for the clarity, that's useful to know
Beautiful.
