@xenotropic That sounds like a wonderful program, and I am thrilled to have my art contribute to that effort. For my own game, it is similarly useful to have the sprites split into individual frames, which I call "idle_0.png", etc.

I similarly have this for most of disthron's sprites, and can easily get it for the rest (I have written an imagemagick script which splits these up automatically). IM can also easily generate 2x and 4x versions. I am on vacation this weekend, but I'll PM you once I get back to my computer that has these files.

Good luck with TEALS!

I'm glad you like it. Walk/run are the same, it is the 2nd column and loops by repeating.

I think it's great, and can easily imagine it as the BG for a cutscene. Thanks for sharing!

IANAL, but I doubt it. The "human readable" CC-BY 3.0 says that you may not apply legal or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits. Since there are many freely available zip tools, you are not restricting anyone from anything. It may be different if they use a proprietary archiving format which requires non-freely licensed software to access.

There are a few things you might try. Instead of using the search feature, you can select browse, and filter by tags instead. For instance "rpg, character", and tell it to only search 2d art. One potentially helpful tag is "lpc" for liberated pixel cup. There are very many high quality SNES-like top-down RPG characters.

You can also look through collections that other users have compiled. There are many RPG and tilesize/style specific collections.

There is also another search page which may perform better than the standard search feature, though I don't know why.

Finally, I sometimes use Google image search for "opengameart rpg character spritesheet" - it is usually faster than the site search, and may provide better results.

Thanks! I suspect I will revisit them once I get time to work on my game again.

Thanks!

That's funny, I did play with a few top hat designs. I tried to give it a nice round brim, but couldn't make it look right. And I didn't like having a single pixel line flat brim, it looked like it needed more depth. So I abandoned the hat.

On the other hand, I do have a few jetpack frames, but never added heat waves or fire coming out of the bottom. I may still upload them though.

Thanks! Your comment is correct - originally the idle animation had the sword go below the bottoms of his feet. After I put it in my game though, it drove me nuts. I changed the sword position in idle, but never updated the attack demo gif.

There is still a single frame in the attack where the sword is lower than the feet, but just barely, and it doesn't look bad in practice - but that's just my opinion.

I played through the demo - I'm glad somebody is putting those sprites to good use!

Re: the name - perhaps "Pixel Keep", "Pixel Depths", "Pixel Crypt", "Pixel Delve", "Pixel Treasure", "Pixel Tower".

IANAL, but perhaps you could even call it "Dungeon of Pixels", or "Rogue Games' Dungeon of Pixels".
