The opensource world is plaggued, like the rest of the internet, by justice/social "warriors" and censorship/politically correct/butthurt drones, Brave New World style.
He is free to release his sourcecode if he wants it, since he is the owner of it. If it make you itchy and prevent you to play the game, you are free too to pass to another one and at least give some respect to the contributor.
