Poor Site Performance

Hey all,
Have recently been experiencing extremely poor performance from the website and yesterday the site suddenly stopped responding for more than 24 hours. Is this an issue that the server admins are aware of? It reeks of a DDoS but I don't know why anybody would want to target OGA. Asked in IRC but got no responses... unsure if anybody responded today (power went out for over 7 hours today so I wasn't able to get any feedback).
Hoping to see a resolution to this soon!
I have noticed that the site is really slow to load these days.
Good call. Took a few days to see where the issue was coming from. Botanic tracked down the culprits and cut them off.

It doesn't look like the intent was to deny service. just a side-effect of another goal; penetrate the site's security, scrape the data, spam with ads, computational mining, etc.
Regardless, Botanic stopped them, but please do keep a lookout for other strange behavior in case they return.
--Medicine StormHuh, gotta love that. I've had to deny botnets from attempting the same on a fan site which had a similar effect. Spam the hell out of the forums and attempt to steal as much user data as possible. It's a daily chore to see if it's just a few hits or if it's hundereds of thousands of hits from the same IP range.
