Public Domain Pack
Collection of 94 items made from old works that have entered public domain.
I have searched for works that looked that could be used in games on sites like the Internet Archive, Wikimedia Commons or Public Domain Review. I have then taken the selected works and processed them manually (retouched, colored, cut out, resized, ...) with GIMP.
The collection contains a lot of animal sprites (mainly fish and birds), architectural sprites, nature sprites (trees, rocks, flowers, ...), decorations (probably good for GUIs), black-and-white drawings, masks, character portraits, misc items (skulls, armor, ...) and even some fonts and pixel art (redrawn from stitching pattern book).
Most items are game-ready 2D artworks (sprites, backgrounds etc.). You can also remix or combine them to suit your specific needs, there's no limit to what you can do!
The list of sources is included in the archive.

Nice!
love those skulls!! Thanks for taking the time to assemble and share this!
This is amazing.
I'm going to use bird_small.png as the logo for my evil faction, just recolored to gold.
Glad you like it, I'll make more if there's demand :)
This is fantastically useful, thank you so much for this.
Maybe someone can assist here. I download the file to be able to use the font that looks like caligraphy. It can be found in the file Stitching_pixelart.png
My issue is that there seems to be only 25 of the 26 letters of the alhabet. At least to ne.
I could be mistaken and maybe one letter is used for two letters? The missing letter, at least to me, seems to be an I, or a J, but I think it is the I.
Can anyone enlighten me about this? Is a letter missing, or is a letter being used for two, or maybe one letter is squashed into another?
Great images in this pack. Thank you for sharing it and making it P.D.
Hello,
yeah it seems like the letter I is missing :( I can't really remember how it happened, I traced the font from some stitching pattern found in an old public domain book, maybe the letter wasn't there, maybe I skipped it by mistake. Maybe you can just somehow make the letter yourself from the letter J? It's just one letter, you could just modify the bottom of it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
No inconvience. Just didn't know what was going on. I will see if I can modify the j to make an I.
I am in no way artist pixel or otherwise although I do like to try. Here is my update to the file. Not sure how it is, but I thought at least to share it. Thanks to drummyfish for the original.
Quick edit. Original taken from here: https://ia800202.us.archive.org/9/items/ladiesfancywork00inga/ladiesfanc...
I was missing in that as well so the flummox is solved.
-Admirable CC0 assets, cant`t wait to lay hands on them. Hey @drummyfish, upload more at next opportunity if possible, thanks.
