Help I can't draw furniture T~T

Hello there, I'm trying to draw a couch for this little 8-bit game I'm makin, except It's coming out terrible. I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips for drawing this style (since this is the first time I've ever attempted the 8-bit pixely kind of style before, and it's not going excellent right now)
Any and all advice would be amazing ^~^

Try and remove the "x'es", or replacing them with round buttons, also try a more desaturated and less grating orange color, or add layers of shading in between the orange and white ^^ try perhaps also making the "seats" slightly darker than the rest to give a greater feeling of depth maybe.
Overall this drawing isn't terrible tho, but it all depends on your standards of course.
Another thing you could do is make it much smaller. But I don't know how that would fit with the rest of your game.
consider your light source, im not sure if this is top down/overhead or orthographic. :) it looks OK though, i can see its a sofa.

I just wanted to point out that i like that the outlines are a bit rough, it gives it a nice style :)

urgh, I see what you mean. Just remember everything is made up of boxes, first draw and shade a box so it looks good, then you can make your couch out of a stack of boxes, shade them over so it looks good, soft and not hard.
