Yes he does indeed!
I might make the entire game with this color palette. He's intended as the main character. I was thinking I might get a video of some very early footage up (it's only the 5th-6th day of development, but much of the code is based on my MLP game) - even though the game play contains nothing interesting yet, just running and jumping.
All the music pieces I made with the word "Hayden" in it, are also intended for this game.
Now that you mention MLP, the style of your dog's eyes reminds me of the ponies'.
I only know that because my girls love MLP.
Yeah, they are inspired by that kinda. But also by Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, and Mitsume Ga Tooru.
I've been a brony and a furry for many years (like since 2012 or something), despite not being a girl really :P though ponies are actually one of the things I'm worst at drawing, funnily enough.
Added a "mini" 16x16 version, for world maps, etc.
