Lucky 7 -- A Proof of Concept
Hey Everyone --
I've been working on this little project for a few weeks off and on, and I'm finally ready to release this to the public. It's not a major game in any way, shape or form, but it's more of an odd proof of concept.
I was able to create a fully working Slot Machine in RPG Maker. And going a step further, I built a custom menu system around it, which allows you to customize your player avatar, choose a background, and play music. And while the backgrounds and character avatars are from the RPG Maker RTP Stock, the program actually showcases one of my own artwork pieces: my Slot Machine Resource Pack. It even comes with a Debug Mode, which allows you to study what I did to make it work, and try to break the game. Yes, you can break the game, and there is a secret (spooky scary) surprise if you do! As a consolation prize, it gives you a code to unlock secret backgrounds in normal mode. :3
Basically, the idea was to prove that a mini-game could be created in RPG Maker, and in a way, a game that's not an RPG in and of itself. This is my sort of "Hello World, I'm a game designer" move, and true to myself, I want to say "Hello, World!" in a unique way that tests the limits of the game engine I'm working with. It's not my master piece, but it is a nice project to introduce myself with nonetheless. <3
I have two links available if anyone wants to play it for themselves: a self extracting exe and a zip archive. Keep in mind that both may cause a false positive with a Virus Scanner... RPG Maker games are notorious for that. I assure you the archives are safe, but feel free to scan them before extraction. You can also scan the file using Virustotal if you really want that extra piece of mind. It's ok with me. <3
Download Links:
Self Extracting File (.EXE) <--- WARNING: May cause a false positive. I assure you this file is safe, however. (Avast scans it as an unknown file.)
Archive Format (.ZIP) <--- Safer bet for those with picky virus scanners
Screenshots are in the attatchments below. <3
Enjoy! Feedback is appreciated <3
