Weekly Challenge: Casual Elements (due Oct 18th)
This week's challenge is "Casual Elements". I'm thinking generic, high quality, highly-reusable art for casual style games (puzzle, board, arcade).
Think about the kind of art you might find in games like Bejeweled, Tetris, Minesweeper, Peggle, Sokoban.
Good entry ideas: chess pieces, playing card faces, objects with distinct colors/shapes, dice, push blocks, etc. Simple interface type sound effects to accentuate actions, success, failure.

Simple low poly chess pieces!
Here ya go: shiny gems or whatever, use them for any purpose.

highpoly landscape items (mountain, forest, grass): http://www.pasteall.org/pic/6452
due to high poly count not usable as 3D model without doing retopology, so with some nice texture usable for 2D shots, maybe for board games; generate maps of any kind; show as symbol in descriptions of mobs/npc's to tell about their preferred living space etc.
make a break from it for now, any ideas what to do else before committing tomorrow?
Here's some music that might go along with this sort of theme:

Osmic's high quality gems are a runaway favorite this week. Congrats for winning!

I score another victory, cool :)
I'd like to thank the academy.. I mean, all those people who added my entry to their favorites!
I forgot to mention that if you scale the gems down, you can easily use them as interface decorations in your (fantasy) game!
Guess who forgot to log in before posting the above comment. Doh!

Dude, you're right. Those would make awesome spell icons. :)
I will probably use them (in the far future) also for item icons: all sort of orbs. They are just perfect!
