Game Jam - Team Matching Program
Hi everyone!
In preparation for the next game jam, I wanted to make an option for people looking for a team who may not personally know others experienced/interested in game development. For this, I made a Google Form you can use to sign up to be matched with others with similar interests before the jam starts. It is completely optional, but I think it should work really well especially for beginners who may benefit from working with other, experienced game developers.
If you are interested, you can find the form at https://forms.gle/RgYybcY9ZXsbG4Ct8
This may be a good opportunity for you if any of the following apply:
- You are a new game developer looking for some experience
- You are an experienced game developer looking to help out newer people
- You are interested in game development, but unsure where to begin
- OR, you enjoy making games and are looking to meet new, passionate people to work with!
Some additional info, for those interested:
- I will try to match inexperienced people with at least 1 experienced person, when possible.
- Experienced people will have the option to be matched with inexperienced teams (if they select they are interested in teaching) or other experienced members, in case they are really looking to win.
- Matching is based on, roughly in order of importance
- Languages - All teams need to have at least 1 language in common so they can work together
- Experience, as described above
- Preferences, including the types of games they are interested in making, engine(s) they are intersted in using, and the types of roles the members are interested in filling (i.e. programmer, 2D artist, etc.).
- I will make matches around 1 week before the jam starts (give or take a few days, pending my availability) so please enter the form early to ensure you will be included.
- Importantly, watch out for a message on whatever platform you entered as your prefered form of contact: OGA messages, email, or Discord, especially around 1 week before the jam starts, as I will be reaching out to you that way to provide you your team information.
Finally, if you have any questions or comments about the form or the matching, feel free to message me here or on Discord @inogNate.
Just doing a forum sweep for dangerous links etc. The link you provided resolves to below error.
"Requested URL must be a parseable URI, but possibly incomplete to be a DynamicLink.
If you are the developer of this app, ensure that your Dynamic Links domain is correctly configured and that the path component of this URL is valid."
Should be fixed now. Thanks for pointing this out.
