Grapple Girl
Thought I would show a game asset I have been working on. Her rig is going in now and I am figuring I will get a bunch of basic animations keyed in too. Sorry, I didn't take a current snapshot of her back, but can see her progression here if you like:

It's kind of like Metroid met Bionic Commando. I'm not figuring to do the game itself, but who knows, I might try... I would kind of like to play her, or thunk mobs with the grappling hook.
Anyways, she's prolly past the point of fixing anything (unless it's easy to do), but I would still like to hear and criticisms that might be out there. I can always keep them in mind when making new stuff.
Thanks for looking =D

Oops, sorry, think I got it in the wrong board (didn't see the others at the bottom).

I moved this post to the 3D art forum.
Thanks =D

The biceps are far too cylinderic implying she has no shoulder muscle. I'd say the main problem are the arms, but the base stance is also a problem since it makes the legs appear they're bending a bit banana-like
Excellent and has me considering some things I hadn't been, thanks! I made her pretty low polly 1302 vertices, 2600 tris (and not that I couldn't have done a better job on modelling the muscle mass), but I hadn't even thought to texture muscle shadows in (and that was really the point of the project, textures)! I'm going to go back and work on this once the rig is done. Thank you =D

Well, my hand painting to this degree is pretty pathetic, but I do think it helped. I might sculpt the muscles later and bake the AO to see if I can get it better (time permitting).
The bananas I can't fix with paint =P Good observations, thanks again!

There's something bothering me about the upper legs on the model's front side. Can you render her facing directly toward the camera?
Aye. Here's also a glimpse at the rig.

Anatomy (yes stylizing is no excuse for bad anatomy :p ) and joint deformation skinning needs work, but other than that it looks quite nice already.

I have no delusions that there is any good anatomy in the model, however, I would ask if you could be more specific so I know what it is that you are seeing that I am not understanding. Thanks!

Ahh difficult to explain... lots of small things. The hip area is definitly the strangest. For example the area between the legs (at the top) needs to have more space.

Hehe, I have to chuckle. I agree. It actually got moved in to "quickly" fix the criticism my wife gave me about the thickness of her thighs and the legs not having some rub. In other words, I adjusted it the easy way, but the wrong way.

Yeah, NEVER listen to wifes about proper female anatomy :D

I like the simplified anatomy and chibi proportions, if anything I'dd tone down the photorealism of the texture a little, it'll make the anatomy seem less problematic.
