Top-down sprite sheet of a rotatable RPG character
The game: https://lostfort.io
This is an MMO in early stages of development. I'd be really happy if I could find a 2D/3D artist that can draw a fully rotatable sprite sheet representing the in-game playable characters.
You'll notice that I'm using OGA graphics which have been really useful in building a theme but the closest one that I found for the character has 4 positions - I'll need roughly 16 - 32.
The controls take a little getting used to - wasd or arrows to move in the direction the character is facing, move the mouse to rotate in that direction - at the moment it's hard to see which direction you're facing due to the limit on the number of directional sprites - that's where I hope you guys can help. Press 'T' to talk - I doubt you'll see anyone in-game though - maybe just me checking that the sky isn't falling down.
If it looks good and suits the theme I'd be interested in some more character sprites and possibly other assets within the game with possibility of payment. Keep in mind it is only myself so I don't have a big budget to play with.
If you're outside the EU you may get a noticable lag as the servers are hosted in Ireland.

Theme
Medieval, fantasy but lacking in the supernatural (no magic or at least minimal magic), slightly cliche but we can build from there. Take a look at the style at the moment.
The specific character I'm looking for is a 'swordsman' (or swordswoman), minimal armour - leather. Period would be England circa 800 - 1100 if we want to get specific.
Spec
- The perspective should be fixed at 20 degrees from normal: where 0 degrees is a perfect birds-eye view and 90 degrees is a profile view/ground level.
- 16 separate sprites, 32 if possible. These should cover the angles from 0 degrees; facing north, through to 180 degrees; facing south. The game engine mirrors the opposite side
- The height of the sprites should be roughly 30 - 40 pixels high. This is ensuring we have good scale for the attacks.
- The names of the sprites should ideally be named in the form 'swordsman-_-r0.png', 'swordsman-_-r1.png', 'swordsman-_-r2.png' etc. The number after the 'r' represents each progressive turn so 'swordsman-_-r0.png' would be facing north. 'swordsman-_-r16.png' would be facing south (if doing a total of 16 sprites). Don't worry about this though I can rename them myself.
- I'm not too fussed regarding this but if anyone uses TexturePacker (https://www.codeandweb.com/texturepacker) then adding them to that and exporting in json format would be really helpful. Again, don't worry about this too much.
Extra
If it looks good I'll be happy to pay for further assets these will likely be walking animations and attack animations for the sprite you created, this means each rotational sprite will need a further number of sprites to represent the animation. I'm not sure of the best way to do this efficiently but I'm sure you guys do. On top of that I may want ongoing assets as and when required - item icons and environment sprites (non-rotational)
If you prefer to discuss privately then PM me.
Thanks
Still looking. A little more info - this would likely suit a very basic 3D model to save on drawing all these frames. See here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSVwtVir5fM for how to do it in blender.
This is all sorted now - I did it myself using the undead artwork kindly donated by Tiziana: https://opengameart.org/content/undead-male
Using blender I created a poor quality walking animation and exported them as individual frames only takes about 1 mb of memory for the full animation you can see it in action at https://lostfort.io
