Outstanding issues before we're out of Beta
OpenGameArt.org is not google. :) That "(Beta)" tag has been hanging up there on the window title for a couple of months now, and I think it's time we start thinking about removing it. However, before we do so, there are some issues and features that need to be addressed. Outstanding issues: * FLAC audio files don't upload properly * [RESOLVED] Not all preview images are scaled down when browsing art * Most older content has no free-tags * Search results don't display previews * "My Favorites" link goes to Most Favorites view Features: * "Featured Asset" Note that there are probably other bugs and useful features; these are just the outstanding ones that are preventing this site from acting as expected. If you discover any other bugs or come up with any feature ideas, please reply to this message. Bart
so I just threw the log on pasteall.org for now:

ah, yeah and ceninan later asked about nested art packs:
"
another thing about art packs: do you think it would be a good idea to be able to nest them?
that way eg. the elven and kingdom sets could be packs, yet included in others
"
Thanks, fktt!
To recap, we discussed the following:
Art packs - users should be able to organize art into "packs" or "folders" and submit or publish these. The pack can then be browsed by other users. This would allow users to organize and rate related art as they see fit.
Graphics on the frontpage - The frontpage is a bit text-heavy right now. We want to find ways to push content. One idea here was to give editors the possibility to "feature" art. Featured works would then somehow be shown in rotation on the frontpage.
Points system - Users would earn points for certain desirable actions, like submitting accepted work, commenting etc. This might give priority in queues and listings etc.
Notifications - When something has happened that you may want to pay attention to - new messages, art for review, replies to threads you follow, comments on your blogs etc, a notification would popup somewhere on the frontpage.
Ideas and thoughts are welcome! And come and pay us a visit on IRC at #OpenGameArt@irc.freenode.net. That's where the action is ;).
EDIT - I noticed that links had been dropped from the log. For those who try to follow our discussion, this is the crappy mockup I/we referred to at times.
