[NON PAID] Indie Platformer Looking for Artists
Hey My name is Tyran Cordine (stage name), I just a normal guy wanting to make a game. As you can tell from the name of this forum topic, I am looking for artists to help with the development of a platformer game.
The game is a metroidvania style game with a sonic the hedgehog mixed with Mario kind of art.
The game will be full of NPC's with their own story and daily routine and the player can help them out to acquire certain things.
the game will feature around 6 main areas including
forest village
inside a volcano
open grassy field
ice field
desert
dungeon
I'll leave some early screenshots of the game.
as you can see from the screenshots their is no player sprite and there are no backgrounds. This is where you guys come in. I need help creating sprites and backgrounds.
don't worry about colour limits either as of now I have removed all colour and art limits as to make this game all the more alive, I will update the colours in these screenshots also in the final game.
if you want more info just ask and I'll update this forum with the necessary information.
Didn't I talk with you about making some backgrounds at some point? Were they for this game?
Anyways, here's a background I made to fit your scene. Hope you can use it. ^^

It's rather copypasty, but so are your tiles it seems, and it appears to fit rather well together.
yeah it was for this. this is AMAZING. THANK YOU
You're welcome, I'm not entirely sold on the "fog" between the blue and green mountains tho. Here is a version with that removed and the background mountains made more detailed to fill the gap, you can choose for yourself.

This background and the entire scene looks so much like something on the Master System in my opinion.
What engine are you using?
I am currently using the GameMaker Studio engine.
Any updates? This sounds fun I would love to see.

not many updates from when I last posted. However that being said the art style of the game changed to be a little more happy. I'll update the post when I can to provide some of the new art ideas
