Looking for Team Members for Professional Project
Hello! I'm The Chayed from a game team I've been trying to make a thing for possibly around 6 years... Yeah, odd amount of time, but consider the fact that I just got out of high school. Anyways, the point is, I'm good at art, but not good enough. I have pixel assets, textures, even a 3D model, all that I've made and shared here on OGA, but still I can't satisfy myself with my own art, and I want the game I'm working on to be absolutely perfect!
What the game is:
The game is rightfully named Byte Sized Heroes, where you play as something called an ELF which is actually just a spirit fuzed to a computer chip, injected into suits of armor. These spirits were spirits of great warriors, resurrected in the form of a fighting robot dude. Quite similar in appearance and behavior to Mega Man's Reploids.
Speaking of Mega Man... The game essentially IS a Mega Man game. Though not really. I guess moreso, Mega Man makes up half the game, and Halo (Time Splitters as well) makes up the other half. It's strong mix of the two. Bringing in 360 degree shooting, swordplay, etc; vehicles (including tanks, boats, helicopters, etc.); map toys (including turrets, grav lifts, platforms, etc.); Epic online and spit screen multiplayer; and much more.
The boy puts you in the position of a young boy (Byte), who'd lost the memories that his previous self held (A very common issue with the Chip Ressurection Process), but who'd still decided to join the group of ELF crime fighters that titled themselves the GAURDIANS. The story progresses with the main character growing a strong bond with his friend and rival Tera, and exploring to take down crime lords known as the ORC (Corrupted ELF chips) units. Once an ORC chip is cleansed of it's corruption, it sadly forms an incomplete spirit gains the ability to either be reconstructed into armor known as a CAST or as a DWARF (Smaller, less powerful version of an ELF) unit.
CAST's are armors that ELF units can mutually possess with the previous spirit already contained within the armor, and the two can simultaniously merge as one spirit to fight, giving them both the powers and abilities of the previous user. Compatibility with a CAST depend on the two spirit's bond which grows over time and is signified as the CAST LvL within the game. As the CAST is used, that LvL increases, and depending on the armor, grows stronger in each stat that the CAST is skilled in.
I'll warn you though, before you join the project, there are a couple things about it that you might want to know. Firstly, the main character is meant to be a bit of a trap (Boy that has a feminine appearance) and will be voiced by a girl, preferably to sound much like Luffy from One Piece. And if you're a feminist, you probably won't like the amount of loli's and boobs included within the games story. Lesbian and homosexual relationships are also mentioned, but not a huge aspect, as the main character (though very feminine) is strait.
The game is also a harem, where you can persue relationships with different girls at different points in the story. You don't have to though, as it won't be an important aspect, but I want to add even more romance and drama to the already intense story I've been writing.
Yes. It's unusual. But I'm also using it to construct a more open minded point of view within the gaming community. Not only is it a fun as hell game to play, but the game is to inspire open mindedness to the LGBT community as well. Take it or leave it, but before you just throw your hands up and yell "NO WAY, YOU RAINBOW PUKING DICK SUCKER!", please read on about what you might be able to gain from working on the team! ;)
What are our team member requirments:
- Anime Artist (Capable of making full anime artwork including characters and scenes.) [I also have some skill in this aspect, to aid in the construction of art pieces, if needed]
- Character artist (Capable of Mega Man ZX style art) [I will help by making normal maps for your artwork, unless you'd prefer to do it yourself]
- Environmental artist (Capable of scenes that look like ZX, but much more complex) [I will again help by making normal maps for your assets, unless you'd prefer to]
- Musician (Capable of making music similar to Mega Man ZX's) [Feel free to apply, though I'm going to be talking to Matthew Pablo to nogotiate something with him as well, as I do not have any experince in the musical side of game creation.]
What the game has:
- Physics based platformer action combat controls
- Guns, swords, sheilds, grenades, vehicles, and more
- Multiplayer, both online and splitscreen
- Multiplayer modes including Co-op and CTF
- Exploration based platforming environment
- Artwork pipeline designed to fuze Mega Man ZX's artwork (Spriter animation pipeline, for easy animated object creation)
- Real time complex rendering (using normal maps, and dynamic shadows) for full scene lighting
- Music, sound, and voice over pipeline (complex algorithms create sound effects such as sound muffling when played behind a wall)
What it will have:
- A Map builder, which you can use to construct either Exploration Maps for singleplayer or co-op, or even Stage Maps to battle in with multiplayer
- A Full Story Mode (Which has already been wrote out by yours truly)
- And fully voice characters (looking for voice actors now!)
What team members will be payed:
- An even portion of the total money earned (after percentages are taken out by possible publishers/Steam) [The payment system will have to be worked out later, but they will be evenly and equally split amongst all members of the team.]
Currently, the game does not have a publisher, but I'm looking into it. I'm hoping to be able to be published by a publisher similar to Sega. A publisher that will publish anime games of some kind. I know that Sega might be aiming a bit high, considering I've never been published before in my entire designing life, but this is a BIG game, with a lot to offer to the gamer. The story is large and complex, and if you'd like to follow up on it's progress, feel free to email me and I'll send you what I've wrote!
Want to see the game? Again, email me. I'll send you the playable tech demo. It's not complete, but it has a lot to offer in it's odd looking artless form.
My email is TheChayed@Gmail.com.
If you'd like to join the team, make sure to share with me something you've worked on, or a portfolio of some kind, so that I can certify your ability to work on the team.
