I would like your input on this song.
I haven't been very active on OpenGameArt within the last year, primarily due to starting college, and an alternative hobby I have in 3D printing primarily been the center of my focus. However, I have been watching this site with the occasional upload or comment here and there. As much as I would like to get back into it, game development takes a lot of time; more time than I am willing to spend on smaller projects. I have however, had time to to create a few songs.
Depending on how long you have been on the site, you may remember a time where I attempted to compose rock music. I actually have returned to that interest and seen some definite improvement (which is ironic, considering I haven't been doing this consistently for nearly a year). Before I post it, I would like to hear your thoughts and potential critique on this song. It doesn't matter whether you are into composing music or not, just let me know your thoughts. :)
As a side note, it sounds so much better through my $20 headphones than it does through my $400 monitor's speakers. I recommend you listen to it through headphones, or with any speakers that have a moderate amount of bass.
EDIT: There is an alternate variation included as well.
Hi Umplix. I did notice your contribution quotas were dropping xD I'm joking of course.
I would have replied hours ago but I'm so easily distracted.
Ok, Input. I will be blunt and honest as that's how I like peoples opinions, feedback and critic of my own.
I've listened several times to be sure on DT770 Pro's and DT1990 Pro's to get an even listening as using cheap headphones tend to exaggerate frequencies e.g. Bass.
Firstly, love the intro! That gritty bass guitar sound and variation keeps it interesting and the same said about the drums.
Secondly, the trumpet/lead instrument at 37secs sounds off and kind of ruins the theme, however, the second half with the same instrument works but then I think because it's at a lower octave and chorded.
I true hope this helps, even if a little, and I look forwards to hearing the progress.
Hey there, Tsorthan Grove. Thanks for your comment.
Yes, that interjection that you mentioned seemed a bit off for me as well, though I was trying to avoid the main motiff from becoming repetitive while also setting up for the second half. I will revisit this portion!
I do also have another, longer, climaxish variation of the song if you are interested in giving your input with that is well. There is a lot more going on in this one, and you should notice with your headphones that I did some experimenting with surround mixing.

Sure, add it in. I'm no pro but I will always be honest and I'm sure more people out there want to share their thoughts on this W.I.P given time.
It was included in my reply, but I've added it to the main post as well.
