great!

I tried this version for a few minutes (windows 7 32bits)  and it seems that there are a lot of bugs compared to the last one:

-various translation bugs for french (Goblin instead of Gold for exemple^^) I'll fix them when I'll find time.

-It doesn't save ...

-Powers pannel is a mess (1280X800)

So I hope there will be a fix(at least for the save) because I really want to see the new features !!

That screenshot looks correct to me.

If it's not saving, that means for some reason it's not able to create a "saves" folder inside the flare folder. Check permissions etc.

Very nice. First time I've played in a while and it's really fleshing out nicely.

Saving work fine for me on Win 7 64 bit.

One thing that's always bugged me is the colours are all very dim and desaturated. I stole nubux's screenshot and looking at it in gimp the whole of the colour range is compressed into the bottom half of the range and this is a sunlit outdoor scene.

I don't know if anything as planned about this but I think some post-processing could work very nicely without having to tweak and rerender any assets and retaining the flexibility of bright outdoors and dark dungeons.

I played around with the levels and the colour balance on nubux's screen a bit.

Red warrior needs caffeine badly.

yes I feel ridiculous with this post, I'm sorry...it was late and I played just a few minutes...the interface is a bit surprising (and I have to admit that I prefered the old one) but maybe someone will mod it soon.

Yet, I'll play  all the game for the third time with great pleasure !!

Hello,

I am new on Flare. I used to play Flare 16 on my computer (Ubuntu 12.04). In order to install the 17 version I erased the flare 16 folder and installed the 17 version. Now I can't play. When I oppen the game it is saying Flare alpha v0.16 and there is new features from Flare 17. But when I go to a new map, the game crash and in the terminal it is saying : 

"Erreur de segmentation (core dumped)" (in English : Segmentation error)

 

Any idee ?

I tried every method of install I think

In the configuration screen, make sure only fantasycore and alphademo are activated mods.  0.17 combined all the little mods into one big one, but your local settings file doesn't know that.

There is still one problem, the name of gold id goblin. It is not very important though.

i 've downloaded the game(i've played v0.16 and v0.15) but i cannot play..this is what i get at the terminal

ilias87, try checking your configuration screen.  You used to have flare 0.15 and 0.16 installed, so I'm worried about your mods settings.  Make sure you have two mods (and only two mods) active:  alphademo and fantasycore.  If you can't even get as far as the configuration screen, try trashing your settings and restarting the game.  Your settings are located in one of the following places:

$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/flare

$HOME/.config/flare

./config

i 've done the second thing you told me because i couldnt enter the configuration screen.(i trashed the settings file).Now i can play the game just fine!thank you makrohn!

@surt: interesting test, I think.

Part of the problem is that I'm the main artist and I'm partially colorblind. I'm learning more about how to render lights and colors better, but it's a slow process.

Perhaps for future tile sets I can work with concept artists who can also supply a sample color palette, and I can try matching the Blender output to those palettes.

@clint Im good, been busy with work. Yeah it has grown alot. Happy to see Tiled supports flare's map format. Im browsing the git repo from time to time looking at what I can contribute. My c++ is kinda rusty been doing alot of java coding, i need a refresher.

First time I clicked the Averguard temple door (with the Key in inventory), the game crashclosed abruptly. Could not reproduce, next time it worked fine (giving a message & Log update to go back to the questgiver).
