Could anyone show me how to make a better attack animation?

I made an attack animation as seen below however, the sword swing, seems off and it does not feel fluid could anyone show me how to make the  sword animation more fluid? sword and the character is attached also below, for some reason it just doesnt feel or look right to play with, could anyone help? Thank you for reading.

well, to make a sword swing look convincing, you need to move the character's entire body around, not just the sword. Otherwise a stab is better, because that you can get away with doing as a single frame, like in the legend of zelda, for example.

 

Maybe try to find an example of what you actually want it to look like, it's always very hard to know how to "just make something better", if you don't have some sort of scale of what your goal is. But that's just me :3
