Audio for my open source game "Fish fillets remake"
Hello, I have another thread on this site just for graphics (https://opengameart.org/forumtopic/need-art-for-a-remake-of-fish-fillets-1-gnu-general-public-license-v3-gpl-3#comment-96641).
I'm selecting some good quality music from this site for the game and I would like to create a thread exclusively for the audio assets.
The game has actually some good quality songs I'm assigning and selecting to the levels. There are almost 80 levels, there's no need for every level to have an unique track but having a good ammount to make the experience fresh would be very nice.
- Accepted formats:
The game is made in love and luckilly love supports a huge and wide spectrum of formats, you can find them here: https://love2d.org/wiki/Audio_Formats
Basicaly all standard format like wav, mp3 and ogg are supported and you can add to it a wide spectrum of old tracker formats.
If all of those options were not enough, I also added the moonvox library https://github.com/9912/moonvox (sunvox bindings for löve). More info about sunvox can be found here: https://warmplace.ru/soft/sunvox/#about
2. Type of audio content requested:
- Music
- Sounds
- Dialogs
Regarding the music, I accept suggestions for already published open music that would fit the game, it needs to be quiet and comforting and a plus would be that the tracks are related to the settings of the game (underwater).
Regarding the sounds, there are no sounds yet on the game but I need sounds for the menus and buttons aswell as for many events in the game like object impact when falling or friction when being pushed. The sounds needs to be properly filter to evoque the underwater settings where the events are happening.
Regarding the dialogs, the scripts of the game have been translated to the following 15 languages:
- Czesch (original language there are already voices for this language)
- English
- French
- German
- German (Switzerland)
- Italian
- Polish
- Spanish
- Dutch (There are already voices for this language)
- Bulgarian
- Swedish
- Slovak
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- Russian
- Esperanto
There are about 80 levels and the first level have 33 lines of dialogs, doing maths that would be aproximately 2640 lines of dialogs per language.
I think there's a lot of things to add and improve on the sound aspects of the game and I would be very happy to receive any contribution and suggestions to add to the game.
I'll be happy to answer any questions regarding the game or anything I may forgot to explain.
Thanks for reading!
Is there any story in this game? If so, you may need darker, evil sounding music for some parts, or more exciting.

And when you finish a level, you'll need some kind of fanfare, right?

hello umplix, no there's no fanfare in the original game like in final fantasy but we can add it.
I didn't read the whole story because I'm slowly porting the dialogs yet but the story turns more into mistery, there are ufos and weird things from outer space. The object that falls into the chimney according to the original intro is a stuck of an ufo that falls into the sea...
If anyone is interested in reading the whole dialogs they can be found here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/fillets/files/Fish%20Fillets%20-%20Next%20Generation/1.0.1/
The first file which contains all the original assets contain the dialogs. I can not provide them myself yet because they are not completely ported.
If you need music, I can make more for you if you want.

Hi Umplix, sure feel free and be creative and contribute as you wish, you are already in the credits but I will add any extra track to the credits. I forgot to say that the original songs are in the same link I provided. There's no need to make the same kind of tracks, just do what you feel it fits to the game and I would try to find the right level or menu for it! and of course the songs would be as any assets I'm selecting or creating open source so you are free to add it to your collection and publish them anywhere. Thanks again for contributing! :)
I've been counting the tracks I have and the originals and the original game have 15 tracks and I already have 12.
I don't mean to do exactly the same as the original as this is a remake, there's no need to have one track for every single level but I can and will add more than 15 as long as the tracks fits the game or any particular level.
The levels have many settings all underwater but there are sunken viking ships, ufos, tanks, war settings house rooms, ancient underwater cities and much more...
Just in case it helps anyone willing to create the tracks, you can listen to all the original tracks and levels on the link above and the new ones that I'm selecting and the new assets in the following repository: codeberg.org/glitchapp/fishfillets-remake-assets

Thank you! give me time to port the dialogs so that I can now which tracks belongs where. Very good selection of instruments for the theme of the game!
