a bizzare game script dialog tree I'm doing
I did the dialog tree of Teseract Prime's first mission in batch code but the mission itself will be made in the Unreal Engine. Batch code gives me a working prototype so I can test all the diaglog tree of the mission or layer it where i need to without having to build the engine all the time just to see new dialog changes. . This saves me weeks of build time when I can test all the dialog outside the game engine.. So You start off with a ships crew that not totally obedient to all your commands. You get given a crappy gun to start with. You have a sidekick called Storm who carries an illegal gun hidden in his backpack that's been banned in almost half the galaxy. The Ship's pilot dosen't always keep radio silence when asked to in missions and sometimes tries to eavesdrop every now and again. Hes does it because hes paradnoid all the time about his brother being trapped in the labs facility and needing rescuing. But if you give him a tough time about his job as pilot then he will act like a bit of a rat and becomes troublesome at times in missions. You also have Central who is all full of hard brass, old guys who haven't got a clue as to what's really going on under their noses. Your ship also has things evey now and again mallfunctioning because itss not had its upgrades done at the starbase yet, So you start off with a wonky ship that works but barely because it has bits and pieces malfunctioning , You get two missions to start off with to thoose to either rescue the lost brother, or find loana shields. You can't do the third, FIX MY DAM SHIP, until you first complete the shields mission first. In preparing for the Loana mission, the ship armory has been stripped down to just bare minimial essentials and the only weapons avaliable are two weak crappy guns a few mines and the guns have very limited ammo.
If you go to Teseract Prime first and find Dr. Thompson, and she will come with you on the ship. She will make 10 health boosts for your mission. if don't pick up the doctor, you only get 1 boost. So its more harder to do the mission withou her. She stays on the ship while you go look for her other colleage Loana Shields who escape from the Teseract plague stricken colony to Vinus Now These two colleagues are involved in biotic genetic research and are involved in the caue of the plague If you visit the ship Upgrades center at the bottom deck to fix the combat suits then they can be installed with the holo lights in them (you need that for the lost brother mission and other missions where there's not much light around.). So its not a game you can just rush all headlong into you have to do some thinking on the best way to try to do the mission..
In the Loana Shields Mission: Planet Vinus is under attack by rouge factions that are there, so Vinus security is more tighter than normal, they also have ridiculous docking fees so if you do land here, if you refuse to leave when asked if you have not enough credits, then you get your ship all blown out of the sky. The docking control is all run by robots, and so androids have no feelings. so if you do lose your ship, and have to evaucate in the escape pods while the ship blows its warp core, then you spend an hour farming back credits running errands for people before Central is willing to loan you another ship to command and give you another chance...........Vinus is in the Cascades System. Vinus is a bit paranoid because of all the conflict going on down on the surface, and is full of people that have a reputation for having a lack of manners and respect for any outsiders so they are quite brash and rude when they do talk to you.. Even though they may have some cool dance music in the beat and shake nightclub.... But unfortuantely your dancing sucks because your dance skill set is that of a fish.
You ask people to see if they know where Mrs Shields is and they are either helpful or just plain rude eventually that lead to going down into the alley toward sewers underneath the city but first you face a firefight with 5 robber robots and if they are destroyed then you get the sewer's door code key if you do pick it up, the rats down in the sewers affect your shields when the rats do do damage to you and storm... . You also get to joyride around in a vehicle in this mission and can get yourself lost, have bears chase you around trying to slash at the tires, an they can flip the vehicle if your tire slash reaches 10 if you don't listen to storms directions..
In the camp is where you find the vehicle and start following directions of the signal that storm had downloaded into his holo map,
as you make your way to locate the research facility in the mountains (which is not so secret now) either on foot if you happen to run out of gas or arrive in the vehicle with still some gas left. If you search the side of the building you find at random either some loose credits, or find a plasma rifle, or find loana's lost bracelet.
Bascially when you start off in this game, your leadership skills are rather weak and you screw up depending on what options you choose and often have power struggles over leadership with storm or other members of the ships crew, storm is the more experienced one and is sometimes headstrong.
To open the holo door once you arrive at the facility after dealing first with a few robot droids patrolling the area you use a droid body part to fool the sensors with, Then once you get inside the building You will have a big firefight with tons of robot droid 60 waves of them and the dead blown robots will be piled up high of tons of dead bodies.
Then Loana comes out among all the dead droids piled up everywhere and looks at everything with shock and horrow and severly scolds you for destroying all of her robots and says who the hell are you people?. And you said you shot up all of her robots to try to rescue her.
She wil say her robots only programmed to resort to become hostile if someone is pointing a gun at them, so you so you point the finger at Storm and blame him because he shot most of them. And because she's a Vinus Citizen by birth. she can be rude and arrogant with outsiders as well at times and she will point out your stupidity in poor choice making as a commander until you eventually discipline her..
She will demmand to know how you managed to fool the sensors of her security system to get into the place, and you simply say you fooled the sensors with one of her droids parts and that it was Storm;s idea, and she will she there's a few bugs to be woked out in the system, makes excuses for her security failure, and demmand for proof that you are who you say you are, and you present the bracelet you found and tell her you also have a Dr. Thompson one of her old collegaues at the biotics facility on Vinus she used to work with on board your ship.
Then she will believe you and then will join you on the ship, otherwise she will be stubborn and refuse to leave the facility or summon more of her droids that are remaining in the facility to take care of business. and if she don't leave you can't complete the mission even if you take down all her droids.
Just as you are leaving the facility to take her back to the city is when the rougue faction suddenly turns up and then starts a big firefight, but when its over and you return shields unharmed and shes back on board your ship talking to Dr. Thompson, and a cutscene will start show them both talking more about the experiements they were doing at the labs you get a message from Admiral Parks from Central who tells you to fly to starbase NC2 so and so to now upgrade your weak ship with no armory and and get your armory back to normal. But there;s a catch when you get arrive there you find the whole starbase facility and all the droids on aboard it have gone all haywire or rogue and you have to take them all down before you can gain control of the station and then beable to use the facility to upgrade your ship....
Once the ship is been upgraded you get a little bit more firepower put in your armory the next time you visit the armory, but not all weapons will be avalaible to use, the will only unlock as you do certain missions.... So that a brief summary of the first mission.
Then if you do lost brother mission next, you get to rescue the pilot's brother out of a massive huge labs facility all full of insane deformed zombies, Makehuman is perfect for making lots of horrible deformed skewed creatures with... You neeed to escort Shields through it and take down hundreds of those creatures because only she has the genetic code to unlock the formula to make the cure of the plague that's somehwhere deep iniside in the huge labs facilty.. So you must not blow up the labs facility until you done shields mission first or you can't get access to the formula. So you can blow up the whole facility by telling Skinar to blow it up with the ship or try to cure the plague and rescue the remaining colonists, In this mission you and Storm and Loana will have holo suit lights (if you have gone to ship upgrades and asked for it) or you going to have a tough time in the dark with Storm's holo shield which only shows a limited amount of light so it will dim if its used too much..The labs facility will be big. .The ship's pilot moral level will greatly improve in your favour if you bring back his brother back alive from the facility and also the formula back to dr. thompson so she can synthetize a cure for the colony.
So my question is, do you guys like the plot so far?
