2D Game Development Character Animation and Equipment/Items
Hello, everyone,
We have been developing a prototype for a 2D "RPG" platformer game over the past few weeks, and are looking for an animator to create a custom character, equipment and a few animations. At this point in development we have only been programming and testing, so we have not agreed on a definitive art style for the game. However, we do know that we're looking for something similar to MapleStory:
The first image in that album is a free asset from the Unity asset store that we have been using during prototyping. We would like something original, but inspired by this art style, and, in the case up MapleStory, updated to look more current since the reference pictures look a bit outdated.
Here's what we are looking for from you:
1. A base character that can be used when first starting the game, along with a few animations for it (i.e. idle/standing, walking, basic attack animation(s), etc).
2. A handful of equipment that can be equipped to the body of this character that work with the animations (i.e. sword(s), armor(s), shield(s), etc.).
3. A handful of "skill" animations, preferably for a swordsman character, though we are open to other ideas based on your experience.
The animations created can be simple overall (we're not looking for you to spend a week doing a single animation), but should be a good quality for our prototype. We will discuss specific details once we begin collaborating.
Final delivery will include png sprites of the equipment, as well as spritesheets of the animations. We are flexible in regard to payment, but will obviously pay more depending on the quality of the work.
