Making a big texture with exactly repeating patterns is a little waste of space, you should keep as much randomnes as possible also take pictures at midday, to avoid wrong lighting effects, I reworked your picture to show, otherwise the picture was pretty good for making texture.

I had to test my pattern by making a big texture, and I thought it could be useful for people who have no graphic skills to get a big texture without any efforts. Sorry I was wrong to do that.

Thank you for your advice about lighting effects, I will try to think about it next time I take pictures to make patterns.

Have you put the picture you reworked on opengameart, can you give me the link, please ?

You did not see it? I made it right after yours, it was a quick job, I thought doing could show better than explaining. http://opengameart.org/content/wall-of-old-stones-mk2

Thank you for the link !

Do you know that in Burgundy in France, walls have exactly that yellow-orange color ? But your wall is better for games.

I took the picture late in the afternoon, I thought it was better because soft shadows give more volume feeling. But may be it's not good for texture patterns ?

Or may be I had to use the flash that causes those bad lightning effects.
