Just a brief update:

I've been working the past few days on getting the data migration code in place, and it seems to be mostly working now. The forum migration code still has a few quirks, and I haven't dealt with favorites or articles yet, but by and large things seem to have moved okay.

Once I get the OGA2 Drupal theme built and put some rudimentary views and search functionality in place, I'll open the site up so people can play with it in real time as I work on it.  I'll be setting up nightly data refreshes, so it should be pretty much up to date with the OGA 1 content at any given time.  The upside to this is that you can upload test junk with impunity and not have to worry about it getting saved permanently. :)

I'm going to need people to play around with the new site as much as possible.  When we go live with it, I'd like it to be 100% functional.
