Tonfa are traditional weapons used in Asian martial arts.  They are the weapon on which the side-handled police baton (i.e. nightstick) is based.  Tonfa are traditionally used in pairs and can be used in a variety of techniques.  When gripped by the handle, the long section of the shaft protects the forearm and allows the tonfa to be used as a shield, while the short part extends past the fist for hard punching strikes.  When gripped by the shaft, the handle can be used as a hook to disarm opponents.  There are also various grappling maneuvers (holds and chokes) that can be used with a tonfa.

In this file, the two wooden materials give a choice of old and weathered or new and fresh, and a new shiny black material allows the model to double as a nightstick.
