More abandoned SMS-like tiles.
Who do I put in the credits if I use this?
Also is there no walking animation? Or is it in another file?
surt. No (abandoned). No.
Ok, I think I will use this, but could you make a simple UI with a health blocks system and an oxigen bar fitting the style? Id love so.
Also I plan to get my game on steam/xbox one/android are you sure you dont want your actual name to show up?
Also why do you place the tiles so unnorganized lol, its a pain to split them
Also if i dont come off as too bad a person could you make a jetpack prop that i could attach to the character, a shield generator prop, an oxigen pack prop and a lever?
Id do it myself but wouldnt keep true to the style, still if you cant np
This tiles are really great, thank you.
@RoderickVI I think you haven't undetrstood how this works here, people are giving stuff for free and you are complaining about it and trying to force the author to do more for you?
Surt! You are back! And just in time! Thx (like the other 10 times) for a new awesome tileset!
nope, not complaining, i was asking and i said clearly if i dont come off as an ass, if he doesnt want to he doesnt have to.
If i came off as rude i apologize but i clearly said i didnt want to sound that way..
I'm a huge Super Metroid fan, and these fit the bill nicely. Great work!
I made a very quick and simple (nothing fancy) jetpack using the existing sprites.
(finally stopped lurking and made an account ;D )
Thank you, I love you so much (no homo)
Hahahaha, i got the mechanics to work, just needed this, thank you really :)
I have a very simple question, I hope.
First, this is a great set of art, I love it!!
Now, my question is: What is this art based on? 32x32?
I am trying to figure out how to make a sprite sheet from it, even if I have to cut the pieces out into single parts and re-assemble it...
Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated!
Well the tiles seem to be 16x16.
Your going to have to put some work in to it to make a sprite sheet out of this though since you don't have a walk or run animation. The hight of the orange and blue guy is 32, so you'll need a minimum of 32x32 but I'm not sure how much space that'll leave you for your animation (you'll need a little extra high for when the merc's moving). Don't forget you can have the spritesheet bigger than you need for the game collisions, just don't make it too much bigger.
In the image below the green box is an example collision box, the light blue is 32x32 and the dark blue is 48x48
SMS uses 8x8 hardware tiles.
I really appreciate the responses, guys! (or gals...)
I am totally ok with making the modifications, and trust me, once I have changed them, I will be putting my changes back here.
This is my new favorite place to lurk...; )
Those are great, thanks!
I will use some on my game :)
Nice !! Thanks for sharing ;D
I'm using this set to make a contra clone, so I made a simple run animation and all the other contra stuff (prone, jump/front-flip). Very rough, but hope they're useful anyway.
