Rotating Jewels
This time, the focus is again on rotating assets—this time with gemstones. Each gem is rendered with its color already baked into the sprite sheet, while alpha transparency allows in-game lighting to enhance their appearance and make them feel more vibrant.
Most of these gem shapes are built directly in Blender, so the primary work here was assembling and refining them into a cohesive sprite sheet. In total, six finished gemstones were created, each with a distinct cut and color: diamond, emerald, topaz, ruby, sapphire, and a yellow gemstone (tentatively garnet).
A sound effect was also created for this set using the reverberation portion of a recorded spoon striking a glass. The initial impact was removed, leaving only the clean resonance to produce a more pristine, magical sound.. ideal for a gem pickup or interaction effect.
