Backstory: Despite much evidence of ancient lost arts in the skillful craft of the enormous monolithic carvings in various ancient quarries, such as Aswan, to name one, modern narratives make little accommodation of the advanced human race, which created them. Their half finished state, suggestive of an abrupt end, is just as mysterious as the inexplicable methods they would have used to carve and excavate such precise and massive artifacts. Thousands of years later, we gaze upon their magnificent ambition with wonder and admiiration. In recognition, I place their legacy among magicians until we mere mortals can replicate those lost arts with anything other than theory and a shrug. This part of history is very cool - the longer you look at it, the more mysterious (and gripping) it is.
