a different kind of battle theme. It's a remake of this: https://opengameart.org/content/random-encounter

Because of the file's very large size due to song length, I decided to export as a mp3 rather than ogg.

File(s):
random encounter 3.mp3 random encounter 3.mp3 7.8 Mb [137 download(s)]

Just curious, why do you prefer MP3 over OGG for large files? I'm not aware of any limitations with OGG/Vorbis. And, as I understand it, OGG (arguably) compresses better.

Because as an MP3 this song manages to sneak it's file size down below 8mb, meaning it can be uploaded to Discord :'D

Discord has an 8MB limit? So, when you compressed it to OGG it was over 8MB?

Yes it was, otherwise I would have to reduce the bitrate.

Interesting. I was under the impression that OGG/Vorbis compressed better than MP3.

Well, it depends on the bitdepth, bitrate, samplerate and various other things, in some configurations of those OGG does indeed compress better, but in others it doesn't.

Generally, the higher the audio quality of the source file and desired by the converter, the better OGG seems to compress.
