This base mesh is my current "rinse and repeat" when it comes for almost all of my humanoids. I am not claiming it to be perfect by any standard, but with a little TLC given to the joints, you can easily animate it. (I added a few extra edge loops to make it easier as well).
With this, you can easily create any humanoid character you want.
-Not UV unwrapped
1640 quads, 2 tris
Also, you may find a lot of unnecessary loop cuts. All of the ones that seem superfluous are for my personal use, so you can easily remove them.
It's not perfect by any means, but it's definitely a good jumping-off point for beginning modelers / developers on a budget :D

Nada. Zilch. Take it, use it, love it (or try at least) I made this as a test to see if I could when I started modeling, and... I could.

I cannot say much, since I cannot model >humans<, but keep practising. If you did that with minamal trouble, then good job.
Thanks.
I don't know what was happening the day I made this model, but for some reason I could model everything very easily. This mesh took me a couple of hours and as I said I use it for virtually all of my humanoids (with tweaks here and there). Now, however, if I try to make the same model again, better, it gets worse.
I mainly focus on C++/C#, though, so I don't mind being inconsistent in art. I'm just glad people can find a use for it :D
As for humans... I'm lucky I pulled this human-oid out of my butt; it's going to be a scary day when I decide to give my character's faces.
Use a photo and project it on and you are done.
Yeah lol... I may end up just painting faces on the UV layouts... would really prefer to get the facial shape, though.
I decided to start smoothing this mesh out as I get closer to my game's demo launch, so as of 04.29.13, I am smoothing out the topology and adding an actual base "face" to the mesh.
I expect to be posting the updated model by 05.02.13. It's approximately 10x better so far. (no more tris, good arm topology, and better head shape)
could you make this as .fbx aswell ?
No, but I uploaded an OBJ. FBX isn't supported on this site :(
Also, I'm probably going to upload a much better version of this within a few weeks / month, but at the moment I'm still dedicating time to making my own stuffs.
Is this rigged?
