Digital Art: Coastal Landscape, Landscape, Night Ocean and Tower Seaside
Posting these images at the request of Saizo-Luz.
Artwork digitally drawn by me (Alexander), Gabriel, Lucia and Sabrina.
Lucia took care of the final details and refinements.
The 'landscape' image, we blended some mountains from another image of ours into the background.
Gabriel drew extra trees (quite a lot) in 'landscape' and 'coastal landscape'.
The 'tower seaside', we added the white tower on the coast - it was just another ocean landscape (it was only water and waves). Sabrina also added some random windows in the tower.

These are beautiful!
Who is Saizo-Luz?
I don't see a lot of art under the GPL? Any particular reason for that?
I hope you share more. These are great!
Did any of the four artists use any A.I./LLM/GAN tools to assist with creating these images?
Saizo-Luz is a guy who asked for some artwork for an open source game called 'Battle for Wesnoth'. He contacted my friend Kyle who told him I could help. The game policies requires that artwork or any other content be under the GPL license, or some CC...
These images are an old work of ours that we don't use for anything, and he asked me if he could use them. He can use it. I'm glad our old relics will be used for something, especially for an old game. So he gave me this website and told me to register and publish these images and leave them under this license to avoid any problems in the game community. He says that publishing the images avoids any speculation about whether it is actually licensed or not. That's why it's under GPL.
Is he not registered? He said he had already used some images from this website.
Ah, Battle for Wesnoth, big fan of that game.
Namely, CC-BY-SA 4.0, currently. I ask about GPL because it is useful for code, but difficult to use for art. Would you be willing to share these as both GPL and CC-BY-SA 4.0? Both of these licenses match the existing Battle for Wesnoth project artwork and this would make it more useful for others to benefit from these as well.
If he is, it is not under the name Saizo-Luz. Submitting art requires registration, but using art from the site does not. He may not have an account while still enjoying the artwork here. :)
There appears to be some jpg artifacts in the images. Are there any original artist files (like .xcf or .psd, or even .png before they were compressed?) at higher resolution or in lossless format?
About AI / LLM / GAN tools...
No! I told Saizo to use AI to create the images quickly and in excellent quality, but the game's policy is also against AI generated content. That's why he wants to use these images.
We used to draw art like this before (it was our hobby) but we never got to use it in any meaningful project. I'm glad you like it! :) It took months to finish some of them, the quickest was the ocean at night. As for the changes and edits, it was recent and at Saizo's request. I think he'll need a few more and if we can continue to help him, we'll post a few more that were in our trunk.
We don't make these arts anymore. When we need to, we use AI, it's much faster and the quality is very good. These are kinda blurry, but Saizo is fine with it.
Understood... Somewhat. :/ These are not AI, but other works produced for Siazo might be? I look forward to any additional scenes you are willing to submit! Though, any assets that used AI even partially would have to follow different rules if you submit those here, so please let me know if future submissions use any AI tools. Thanks! :)
I'll add the CC 4.0. Other people can use it as well, it's not only for him.
There is no other or old files and there is no higher resolution. Everything we did was always after saving a copy of the image so as not to end up messing everything up. Gabriel drew the trees recently and we did some more editing (it was kind of a rushed thing). I wish it had better quality, but we are not professionals.
Thanks.
I understand. Looks plenty professional for my uses! :)
Hey man, I just registered! Thank you so much for doing this! :)
You didn't need to post these images so quickly - like I said: I'm still deciding whether I'm actually going to use them. But they look wonderful! You resized them, and didn't lost quality?! That's impressive! I'm still looking to see if a map would be an option, but from what I can see it won't be. The good artists are busy, and I don't know the old continent of the game very well, so... I think I'm gonna use these! :) I don't think it's blurry, it's perfect for that game - the artwork they have has a somewhat blurred style. Kyle said you're using his email... XD! He didn't want to post the sound effects he created but he gave you his email... I mean... what? *_* There is no need to do further editing to fix some things, it's just fine! Sorry for any inconvenience about licenses and AI stuff! I'd use AI to create images, but they said NO! There was a whole discussion about the issue, policies and ethics. There are no more artists around, AI would be great to fill that gap - I used AI to create schedule images, it's a very small image, but the director didn't allow me use it. Rules are rules... moving on! Thank you again, Heytor!
That brat! He said I used AI to create these - I had to prove him wrong, AI can do so much better. I'm using his email so I won't have to answer anything else or give any further explanations about these images - if something comes up he'll be the one answering. Won't he publish his sound effects?
I put the images under the required licenses, you should have no problem - if you have some problem, don't use them. I've told you before, and I'll say it again: I'm not going to get into discussions about these images - I'm just going to share them (especially for you, since you asked for them) so that you can use them under license. If you don't use it, let me know! Seriously! There is no problem if you decide not to use them.
He allowed me to use them licensed, but he'll not publish it. These licenses should be enough and if I don't use them it's because there are issues in the game community and I'm avoiding headaches. I'll let you know.
@Saizo-Luz: where did you make the request for these to be posted/shared?
