There's no dragon
or backgroundsin the pack?High there sorry for being vague. No there is no dragon or backgrounds thats a part of the paid full pack which is named Knight & Dragon I will edit the description now. Sorry for the confusion
Thanks, but it's not really the description that's a potential issue (or not only the description). It's fine to advertise your commercial packs, but the previews should show what is actually in the free pack here on OGA. I understand the purpose of having a scene to demonstrate how the asset could be used, but these previews are more deceptive than demonstrative. If the pack doens't include dragons, trees,
backgrounds, etc. the preview probably shouldn't have them either.Or at least the preview should make it obvious somehow that those features are not included. Thanks for understanding, and great asset! I love the vibrancy on the full pack components, too. :)
I have already included an image with all of the sprites available (the 2nd pic) in the free file before to show what came with the zip, however i can see the confusion with the title so to prevent that have removed the word dragon.
The issue is not with the 2nd pic. it's with the
1st and3rd.OHHH i see what is going on it seems to be a confusion on my end. It seems the zip folder did not come with the background or the knights in parts (first image). I will upload the new file now. I was having some issues with the site hanging for me.
Please download the new file the first image is a part of the CC0 Free Pack third image was just a showcase of how the sprites work together. I will remove the third image as those are for the paid pack
Ooh! ok! Awesome. That's even better. Thanks.
Ive added the images to the submission as well so people know that those parts are also available for free
Currently were trying to release all the free and paid assets over to all the sites (There is over 50-60 submissions) So i'm having a tough time organizing and changing them around for each of the sites (preview/description/title wise). I was not sure if I should seperate the in-game knight sprite with the one shown on preview or not? Would it be a better idea to make a seperate submission for the in-game knight or is it fine in one submission?
fine in one submission. Both the stylized "title screen" version and the playable character version are in the downloadable package, so you're all good.
The preview of the cat platformer assets shows stuff which is not included in the zip file, too: https://opengameart.org/content/platformer-cat-sprite-background
The cat one has now been edited
Unfortanetly due to the sheer amount of released assets (that were releasing in bulk and slowly) were having issues resizing and editing so sometimes forget to fix some of the preview images to show whats given. So any issues with previews just let us know
The preview still contains a background, tree trunks, a crystal and a number of a bitmap font The zip file only contains the cat character and the city background. The easiest would be to just remove the first preview image since the others are fine. Note that the first preview image is shown in the gallery pages on OGA, so you might want to have the cat head as the first one.
If this is about a different submission, these discussions should probably occur on that specific submission's page.
Also, keep in mind there is no need for preview images to be completely devoid of anything not in the download; It's fine to have previews that contain a few embelishments for demonstration purposes as long as it's fairly clear those features are not necessarily included in the package.
Anyway, thanks all for working to fix these issues and especially to ChiliGames for the generosity and quick responses. :)
