I took several of the GrafxKid classic hero edits and transformed them to an isometric projection (dimetric) on a 32x32 grid.

Eight animated characters with idle, walk, attack, and hit animation frames (though several animations could probably use a few additional frames and tweaks). Up and down facing directions are included.

  • Classic Hero (special thanks to GrafxKid!!!)
  • Ninja
  • Knight (special thanks to Disthron)
  • Viking Shieldmaiden (includes version with and without weapon)
  • Ye Oldy Musket Guy (includes version with and without weapon) (special thanks to Disthron)
  • Pirate Captain
  • Samurai
  • Roman Hoplite (new character) (includes version with and without weapon)

I am also including a tileset made using the DB32 palette, that includes grass, desert, stone, water, and wood tiles, as well as a few props (birds are adapted from Refuzzle). The tiles also include shadows that can be layered to mimic decent ambient occlusion.

Thanks all for your comments! @GrafxKid, thank you for sharing such a cool character, and one that was simple enough that even I could play with it!

@Ivan, thanks! DawnBringer32 is definitely a great color palette, and OGA has many other fine examples if you are interested!

@Disthron, your characters were just too cool, I got hooked!
