The models are looking great. But, without wanting to upset you, this are no voxels. Just blocky models, which have the common voxel-look.

Voxel comes from the words "volumetric" and "pixel" and is comparable with a three dimensional texture.

"Comparable to that of a pixel, a voxel is a unit of graphic information that defines a point in three-dimensional space."

I don't want to start a huge debate, but to me those models seem to fit that definition just fine.

All that aside - great work! These look fantastic.

A true voxel object, AFAIK, would probably include texture/color/material info for voxels inside the object as well as on the surface. So that, for example, if you cut the object in half, you'd be able to see its actual cross-section.

the lightsabers cannont be open content (or public domain) because thye are clearly inspired by star wars designs, and well, theyre lightsabers, owned by disney/lucasfilm

wouldn't the lightsabers be copyright infringement?

Disclaimer - I know this upload is from 2015.

Protip - You can put the lightsabers back.  Lucasfilms cant prevent you from making fan art of lightsabers.  Some previous posters are confusing Copyright with Patent or maybe they are just confused in general.

If you create fan art from scratch.  Like voxel lightsabers.  You are the copyright owner automatically under US law.  Not lucasfilms.  They would need a patent on lightsaber design to make a claim against your copyrighted content.  Obviously they dont have any such patents and even if they did they would have expired long ago.

Confusing copyright with trademark, actually. It's true there is no issue with having those models in this pack, but they shouldn't be called "Lightsaber", because that term (in this context) is actually trademarked.

Absolutely.  They could be "energy swords" or just no description.

I suspected they where thinking of trademark.  But if so.  Why suggest to take down the model rather than just simply remove the usage of the word "lightsaber"?  I think the answer is just general confusion about IP.

Thanks for posting though.  The misinformation about IP is a real bummer.
